This is the video for Monday, the 23rd of August.

In the morning we were welcomed by some of the local dignitaries of the village, the district and the memorial Zeithain who wished us a pleasant and happy stay and success in our work.

Then we went to the memorial where Jens showed us around the memorial site and the museum and explained the history of the memorial and the POW camp.

By mid-day, our latest participant arrived, Augusto, who had been in the vicinity for two days already but had not managed to make contact or find us in Kreinitz.

In te afternoon, we went to Mühlberg, another POW camp nearby. Unlike in the area of the POW Zeithain where the whole area has first been used by the Red Army after the war as a tank drive range and then, after the Red Army left in the early 1990's, left largely untendered as a nature reserve, in Mühlberg the outline of the camp had been somewhat preserved and some of the foundations of the barracks were still clearly visible.
